Inspired by the literary classic Moby Dick, I designed a custom bottle and matching label for Whalers premium rum, a fictional rum brand. The unique shape of the bottle references the curved head of a sperm whale, as depicted in the original 1851 book illustrations by Herman Melville.

The label embraces the nautical theme but breaks away from traditional engraving and etching techniques. Instead, I used a minimalist, modern illustration style, combined with luxurious print finishes like gold foil and embossing. This gives the bottle a refined, contemporary look, especially when presented in its custom linen-wrapped gift box.
